Red Rooster Lates: Collision Frequency Tour ft. Wayne Snow + Kodama

We’ve collaborated with Diplomats of Sound to create Red Rooster Lates, a new live series for London featuring local and internationally acclaimed artists at the forefront of the jazz revolution.
We continue our sold out Red Rooster Lates series by hosting the London leg of the Collision Frequency Tour. The line-up features the hugely exciting Berlin-based-Nigerian-born vocalist and songwriter Wayne Snow and Franco-Japanese ‘jazztronica’ duo Kodäma.
After two EPs (with fellow Berliner Max Greaf lending a hand at the controls for both Rosie and Red Runner), Wayne Snow dropped his debut album Freedom TV on Copenhagen’s Tartlet Records early last year. It’s an incredible record flowing over with Afro-Caribbean, soulful grooves and Wayne’s effortless falsetto. Over ten tracks Wayne explores themes of liberty, struggle and creative identity set to a palette of warm af jazz, downtempo lo-fi house and swung-bruk workouts (courtesy of frequent collaborator and bandmate Rhythm Section’s Neue Grafik).
Founded in 2016, Kodäma are led by singer Kiala (daughter of Fela Kuti’s guitarist). They mine an electro-soul and jazz-tronica groove permeated by Japanese and West African scales and influences. Their 2018 EP Black Cloud follows a debut release both garnering praise from the likes of Giles Peterson and Bradley Zero.
